Almost 200 pairs of socks collected at The Source for 20k Sock Day

The 20k sock day got off on the right foot in Picton.
Thanks to the support of local residents, nearly 200 pairs of socks were donated to the We Be Us campaign on Friday, Feb. 22nd.
The 20K Sock National Campaign is aiming to provide socks to the 200,000 Canadians who are currently homeless and provides these new socks through partners such as Hastings-Prince Edward County branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association.
Jacquelyn and Mike Kenthol, co-owners of The Source on Main Street, Picton promoted this year’s campaign at their store and thanked their customers for generously supporting this important project.
April Bradley-Stewart, the local coordinator from the Social Services Worker Program at Loyalist College in Belleville collected the socks and expressed her appreciation to local donors and their Kenthols for their leadership and social responsibility in Picton.
