Starting May 28 The Rural Ontario Institute (ROI) will be sharing stories of successful rural entrepreneurs and entrepreneurship programs through the Rural Entrepreneurship Case Studies and Webinar Series.

The ROI is a non-profit organization committed to developing leaders and facilitating collaboration on issues and opportunities facing rural Ontario.

ROI has arranged a series of case study reports that highlight a range of approaches to entrepreneurship programming being implemented in rural communities throughout the province.

These case studies include broad topics such as eco-building, youth programming and repurposing space. In each case study there are new and innovative business ideas growing and thriving with the support of a whole community behind them.

The stories explored in the case studies include Sophiasburgh Central School Commercial Kitchen County Food Hub Project as well as The Elgin Innovation Centre, Elgin County, Kidpreneur in Lennox & Addington and several others.

“The ROI wants to share stories of promising, practicing entrepreneurs so people will be able to become an entrepreneur themselves.” added Ryan Deska, Project Lead.

The webinars will accompany the case studies and will provide the opportunity to dive deeper into the experience of the communities, organizations and entrepreneurs featured in ROI’s Case Studies. The webinar series will have four components:

Inspiring Young Entrepreneurs – May 28

Re-Purposing Space – June 6

Eco-System Building-June 12

Win This Space-June 20

All webinars are from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. and are free of charge and offer an opportunity to connect with economic developers and community builders while providing the chance to share stories with them and walk away with some new ideas.
