Letter: Frustration over Quinte Conservation park-and-pay system

I was in the Quinte area over the long weekend with many other birders and noticed the new pay parking machines in conservation areas requiring on line payment.

Stupid idea.

Many older people do not have a good smart phone, including myself, and I was unable to go through the time consuming web process.

I do not object to paying but there should be a cash option, especially for non residents who just want to pay for one time use.

And there is a privacy issue.

Why do I have to register my personal information including phone and email and credit card to access a public conservation area?
