Letter: Patios shouldn’t be eliminated for sake of a few parking spaces

Councillor Phil Prinzen seems to think cars are more important than people with his wish to make, “those sidewalk patios illegal in our villages” because they may take a parking space away from summer use.

Too bad councillor.

Sitting on an outdoor restaurant patio in the short summer weeks sharing time with our friends should be encouraged.

Sure, review the bylaws, correct where needed, but don’t do away with them for the sake of a few parking spaces.

Perhaps he should travel around the province, the country, into other parts of the world: outdoor sidewalk patios are always popular and in high demand by summer crowds.

Why should it be any different in Prince Edward County?
