With the COVID-19 global pandemic forcing Prince Edward County’s local healthcare system to adapt quickly, the Lester family have decided to take action.
Over the years, the Lester family have been generous supporters of Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital.
A desire to improve the experiences for all patients during the current crisis, Garry Lester and his family stepped forward with a donation in support of the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation. This gift was made on behalf of the employees at Lester Group, a construction and real estate development company.
“We are very fortunate to live in a great country and a great County. There are times when we need to give back. This is one of them,” said Lester on behalf of his family.
This gift has already been put into action at PECMH. With this generous donation, the Lester family has been able to purchase a crash cart, patient handling equipment and high oxygen masks needed to help in the fight against COVID-19.
“PECMHF and the Lester family have enjoyed a philanthropic partnership for over 20 years, and their support has never been more important than right now as communities unite to fight this pandemic,” said Shannon Coull, executive director of the PECMH Foundation. “The support of this family means so much to us. Their generosity speaks volumes to the community pride present in Prince Edward County and we are grateful for their support.”
