VON Fall Prevention Program – new session starting Tuesday, November 24th, 2020

There’s still time to register for this upcoming session.  The Victorian Order of Nurses (VON) offers the Seniors’ Exercise & Falls Prevention program.  The Ontario government thinks that falls prevention is important enough to fund this program.  For that reason the VON can offer the program for free.  It is a twelve week program that includes an innovative educational component and also includes balance and strength exercises.  The program starts on Tuesday, November 24th.  This time the program will be offered through a Zoom webinar organized by Community Care for Seniors.  Classes will be held Tuesdays for 12 weeks.  To register or to get more information call the VON at 1-888-279-4866 ext. 5350.  Space is limited.

Seniors who need help to order or pick up their groceries, library books, medicines or other essentials then please call and ask for support.  We can also provide reassurance/wellness calls to help people cope with this pandemic.  Community Care also has openings for new volunteers.  Please email info@communitycareforseniors.org if you have 2-3 hours a week to help seniors live at home.
