Ruth Dianne McDonald

(Born Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia – Died Prince Edward County, Ontario)
Took delight and pleasure in gardening, reading, music, art, fun, friendship, family, and love (always room for more!). A can-do kind of gal with so many talents who “got sh*t done” volunteering throughout her life. What could she not do? We thought she was immortal. We are shattered. We love and miss you so very much.

Ruth McDonald (nee Richards) died at the age of 81 on March 16, 2024. Daughter of the late Ivor Richards and Freda (nee Goer). Loving mother of Diane, Brian (Kristal), Jean (Steve), and Steve (Gwen) and grandmother of Karmin, Emma, Mack, Evelyn, and Remi. Survived by her brothers Stan Richards (Joyce) and David Richards (Gail).  Fondly remembered by her many nieces and a nephew.

A private family graveside service was held at Glenwood Cemetery, Prince Edward County. If desired, donations to Hospice Prince Edward (www.hospiceprinceedward.ca), and the Ruth McDonald Butterfly Garden (c/o www.schombergcommunityfarm.ca) in Ruth’s memory would be appreciated by the family.
