Prince Edward Skating Club closes out the season with a Disney-themed carnival

Nearly 70 figure skaters and ice dancers participated in Prince Edward County Skating Club’s annual spring carnival Sunday April 28.

Featuring the youngest CanSkate graduates, the Rising Stars program, and the Club’s touring competitors, the show did all the takes on Disney. Toe-tapping hit songs from favourites such as Frozen, The Incredibles, Snow White, Zootopia, and the Mickey Mouse March made for for a rousing afternoon at the rink.

Club members aged 3 to 19 performed spins and spirals. The club is to be commended for the wonderful costumes.

Guests and soloists included Toronto-based ice dancers Anna MacKenzie and Wesley Lockwood, Stirling’s Madison Myers, Picton native Sophie Ward, and the Fire on Ice Synchro Team. Among the the Skate Club’s Star soloists were Emily Wager, Vada McGinnis, Anisha Taylor, Julia Cranshaw, Molly Carroll, Mercy Norris, Morgan Dayton, Madelyn Koopmans, Gracie Acorn, Abby St. Germain, Charlotte Baldwin, Alicia Rankin, and Evie Macdonald.

The club hosts its annual AGM in the coming weeks and has a number of volunteer positions to fill. Date and location to be announced.
