The shortlist of companies bidding to build the new Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital has been revealed.

The final four are Ledcor Construction Limited, M. Sullivan & Son Limited, Pomerleau Inc. and Quinte Care Partners.

The successful developer will be announced this summer.

The new hospital will have improved equipment and include a 24-hour emergency department, helipad, surgical suite, and dialysis unit.

Quinte Health President and CEO Stacey Duab said the shortlist announcement is an important milestone. She noted the continued inspirational efforts undertaken by the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation and the Back the Build donors.

“Bringing project of this significance to fruition takes strong partners, determined advocates, and the unwavering support of the community. Your belief in our collective mission to build a new Hospital has fuelled our determination. Together, we are forging toward ‘shovels in the ground’ with passion, purpose, and gratitude.

“Every brick laid is a testament to the community’s commitment to local health care today and for generations to come.”

A groundbreaking ceremony with the successful developer takes place this fall. The new hospital will open its doors in 2027.
