This March Break, 28 PECI students and five chaperones will embark on the international component of a well rounded education.

Naturally, this requires round-the-world travel. To Greece, in this instance.

After flying to Athens from Toronto, students will vist Delphi, Dion, Thessaloniki, Pela, Lefkadia, Vergina, and the Meteora Region. Site visits include the 1896 Olympic Stadium, the Parthenon, the Delphi Museum, cliff-top monasteries, Mount Olympus, the Roman Agora, the White Tower, and an archaeological site.

Through the trip’s specially crafted itinerary, students will learn about the culture and history of the cradle of civilization. To help reach the goal of a successful international education trip, Education First (EF) will lead the students through their Educational Tours program to visit these unforgettable locations.

“A great deal of learning happens outside the classroom. I’m looking forward to seeing students grow in their understanding of how vast and diverse our world is. I’m hopeful that personal growth sparks an interest in learning more about our world.”

Trip Coordinator Laurie Spencer

PECI’s Laurie Spencer is the trip coordinator. She hopes it will lead students to grow with the world around them, gaining new perspectives on different cultures and people while visiting the birthplace of democracy.

“Students will also learn a lot about themselves. Many have never traveled outside of the continent before. This experience gives an opportunity to grow their understanding of the world as well as confidence in taking on new challenges,” said Ms. Spencer.

Beyond the exploration of Greece’s immense history and culture, students will learn more about themselves through personal growth and reflection.

“A great deal of learning can happen outside the four walls of the classroom. I’m looking forward to seeing students grow in their understanding of how vast and diverse our world is. I’m hopeful that personal growth sparks an interest in learning more about our world,” said Mrs. Spencer.

Students return March 19th. One simple week, yet with memories and insights from a once-in-a-lifetime trip that will transform them forever.
