OPP committed to health and wellness of Prince Edward County

While we are all experiencing these unusual times together, I wanted to send out an update from a community safety perspective. While social distancing is on everyone’s mind, it is crucial to stay in touch with our networks.

Whether this is a quick phone call, text or Facetime we need to remember to check in on our friends, families and colleagues.

The Ontario Provincial Police is committed to the health and wellness of our members and there are a number of resources I’d like to share which, in turn, will assist us in doing our job effectively while we continue to maintain a high level of service to our communities.

Hastings Prince Edward Public Health is a fantastic resource for accurate, up to date information about COVID-19: https://hpepublichealth.ca/the-novel-coronavirus-2019ncov/  Here is a link to online reporting of less serious incidents such as theft, mischief to property, lost property or after the fact driving complaints: http://opp.ca/index.php?id=132.

While our detachment doors are locked, our officers will continue to respond to calls. You can always call 911 in a life threatening emergency, or 1-888-310-1122 for other issues.

Please consider the front line employees whether they are health or law enforcement through these difficult times.

We will get through this together.
