A dump truck collided with a Volkswagen Golf on Hwy 62 Friday evening, sending the occupants of the car to Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
Police report that the eastbound Golf, travelling on County Rd. 1 failed to yield to the north-bound dump truck at around 5 p.m.
The occupants of the car were treated and released with minor injuries. The driver of the dump truck was uninjured.
The driver of the Volkswagen, a 50-year-old Toronto woman, faces a Highway Traffic Act charge.
In other police news…
The OPP has charged a 24-year-old Picton man in relation to a theft complaint received Oct. 23. Prince Edward County officers were told a woman’s wallet had been removed from her unlocked vehicle and used at a Picton store. Through investigation, the OPP identified its suspect.
The man was charged Thursday with theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime, both offences under the Criminal Code of Canada. The accused will face the charges in Picton court Nov. 15.
