Passed after a short battle with cancer on Thursday Oct 26, 2017 at Cobourg Hospital – Palliative Care. A loving and vibrant companion, mother, grandmother and friend has been lost.  Joan is survived by her loving partner Charlie Porter and his family in Ontario and Nova Scotia,  her sons Jim Jennings of Burlington, John & Cheryl Jennings of Ottawa, her granddaughter Aimee Jennings of Nova Scotia, her grandson Jarret Jennings & Melissa MacPhee, and her great grandson Sebastian MacPhee of Nova Scotia.  The Jennings and Porter families wish to thank the Doctors, Nurses and staff at Hotel Dieu Kingston, Belleville Hospital and Cobourg Palliative Care during Joan’s final weeks. Their care and compassion for patient and family during this time was appreciated.  A celebration of life with friends, direct and her extended adopted family is planned for 2018 in Picton.  In lieu of flowers, Joan has requested that any donations be directed to local women’s shelters to help women and children in need.   Arrangements entrusted to the Whattam Funeral Home 333 Main Street, Picton www.whattamfuneralhome.com
