The County announced this morning that the municipality’s water and wastewater department will be conducting emergency repairs on Wellington’s Main Street today.
The work is the result of a water main break between Conley Road and Belleville Street. The work is expected to begin immediately and is anticipated to be wrapped up by today, Jan. 10, at 6 p.m.
Lane restrictions are expected to be in place throughout the work and drivers are being asked to avoid the area if possible. The release from the County says heavy equipment may limit visibility in the area and noise levels will be elevated for the length of the work.
The work isn’t expected to have an impact on water quality, but the municipality is advising that some residents living in the area may notice partial or complete loss of water pressure and/or coloured water while the construction is ongoing.
To address the potential for coloured water and pressure loss, residents are encouraged to flush their water lines at the cold water tap nearest to the water meter following the completion of construction.
