There’s lots going on at Community Care for Seniors. We offer ongoing programs and services such as Meals on Wheels and foot care clinics. Then there are the date-sensitive program offerings such as Seniors Luncheon Socials, Tai Chi, the Wii bowling league, presentations and courses.
Each and every month Community Care staff compile an updated listing of the date-sensitive events and short blurbs on the ongoing programming. We call this our “public service announcement” listing or PSA for short.
The list is then circulated far and wide. We include on the distribution all the Women’s Institute branches, all media outlets, the libraries, Wellington on the Lake, service clubs, churches (if we have their email address), the Chamber of Commerce, Whattam Community Calendar, and others. If your club or group would like to be on the distribution list just let us know by e-mailing info@communitycareforseniors.org
If you are looking for what’s on at Community Care you can easily access that information by “liking” Community Care’s Facebook page. Hard copies of the PSA listing can be found at any library. Check the list by going to our web site at www.communitycareforseniors.org and clicking on “Service Announcements”. You can also read this column regularly. If you’re in the Community Care office you’ll see a hard copy of the PSA listing in our waiting room.
Now you know what to do so that you won’t miss out on upcoming events and programming such as Fitness 4 Seniors. The next session begins on Monday, Feb. 26. There’s a Seniors Luncheon Social on Wednesday, Feb. 28 in Consecon serving a meal of roast loin of pork followed by a presentation on Canada Post and how Rural Route Mail Couriers (RSMC) can help seniors stay safe when they sign up for the Rural Route Reassurance Program. Community Care’s income tax volunteers will start accepting the paperwork for eligible seniors on Thursday, March 1, 2018.
