Hastings Prince Edward Public Health encourages residents with private well water to test their drinking water seasonally. At this time of year wells may be impacted by runoff from seasonal snow melt. This may be even more significant for those with shore wells. Any well subject to runoff or high water may be at greater risk of contamination, so public health encourages you to sample your water by obtaining a water sample bottle from any of the public health offices. In Picton the office is located at 35 Bridge Street, at the bottom of the town hill. For additional assistance call the health unit at 613-966-5500 ext. 677.
