Lawrence Leighton (Larry) Powell died in the night of April the 11th. Larry was my great partner for the last 10 years. He was someone who I could always count on and he with me. He was highly regarded in the Forestry business for his knowledge skills, and his enthusiasm. He worked for MNR for years and was also Superintendent of Algonquin Park. He was a loving Dad to his two children, Robert of Toronto and Jenn who lives in Costa Rica. Both of his children are Phd. students which gave him such pride. He was also proud of his 1st wife Yvonne, of Pembrook, spoke very highly of her. He will be remembered as a golfer that everyone enjoyed being with on the course. During his last 10 years with me he built and renovated 6 homes. He loved animals; cats were particularly fond of him. He was such a kind man always ready and capable to help anyone. Larry was a wonderful friend a great supporter of my family, loved having “golden hour” with Sister Sue, Aunt Nance, sister Lo and Rainer. He was always there for my two boys Quinn and Zach and all our friends. I will always love him and miss him terribly. Sally Ackerman If desired, memorial donations to a Humane Society would be appreciated by the family.
