Stephen G. Skratt
passed away peacefully at his home in Hampden, Maine on Thursday, April 12, 2018 in his 87th year. Predeceased by his wife of fifty years, Patricia (Ariotti) and his close cousin Bill Rabbie of Wellington, Ontario. Stephen was the first of four sons born to Ted Skratt of Staten Island, NY and Geraldine (Cahoon) Skratt, formerly of Bloomfield, Ontario. He is survived by brothers Tom (Marcia) of Winterport, Maine, John (Helene) of El Dorado Springs, CA and Joe (Shirley) of Picton, Ontario, plus nieces and nephews. As a young man Stephen served with the US Army overseas, returning home to work on the Skratt family farm in Pleasant Bay, Hillier. Eventually Stephen moved to Connecticut where he married and pursued a career in banking. The Skratts retired to Hampden, Maine. Stephen attended services at the historic St. John’s Catholic Church in Bangor, Maine. A committal service is planned for June. “Requiesce in pace”
