Letter: Dukes exec thanks fans for support

Thank you to all of our fans, sponsors, supporters, volunteers, billets and support staff for all of your unwavering support and energy through this unprecedented season in Dukes history. Special thanks to our County of Prince Edward community centre staff for their patience and guidance.

We cannot express how thankful the boys are for the support at every game, every road game, on the road in Dryden and in Chilliwack. We were the envy of every team at the RBC Cup when it was revealed the number of fans cheering and supporting back home in the DukeDome watching the Dudley-Hewitt and RBC games on the big screen. It was nothing short of fantastic and we will do our best to do it all over again next season.

Look for our all new Dukes clothing line available on line at www.wellingtondukes.com and at the Essroc Arena starting in July. June 2 -3 is prospects camp in Belleville. June 30 is the deadline for applications to join our non-profit board. We are looking for volunteers that would like to help on game days and help coordinate our non-profit groups activities. All are welcome.

We are also immediately accepting applications for marketing and game day assistants. This is a paid position perfect for students or anyone interested in event marketing and promotions. Go to the Wellington Dukes web site for details. We are immediately looking for billets for our players in Belleville and Wellington. Details at wellingtondukes.com.

Other upcoming events include our golf tournament July 28, the Dukes’ hockey school in August, a Dennis Hull Celebrity Roast comedy fundraiser Sept. 22 and a game between Dukes alumni and Toronto Maple Leafs alumni Dec. 1. See our web site for more details.
