Margaret Patricia (Halifax) Davis (Pettingill)
It is with extreme sadness that we, the family of Margaret Patricia Davis (Pettingill), announce her passing on July 2, 2018 in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII, with family by her side. Pat was born in Picton, ON., to the late Arthur and Margaret (Hall) Pettingill. A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was determined, independent and always charitable. Her passions were cooking, baking, knitting, taking trips to Picton, ON and Glace Bay, NS, and making sure everyone around her had what they needed without thinking of herself. She enjoyed spending time at Spencer House Seniors Centre, going on outings, helping with various fundraising efforts, her time working on the Glenora Ferry, traveling to see family and friends, and just enjoying life. Pat leaves behind her life partner Earl MacInnis, Glace Bay, NS; son Darrell (Diane) MacInnis; daughter, Catherine MacInnis; granddaughters, Madison and Kayley; and great-granddaughter, Alayah; brothers, George (PJ) Pettingill, Picton, ON; Doug (Cathy) Pettingill, Wellington, ON; and Bob (Teresa) Pettingill, Niagara Falls, ON. She is predeceased by her sister-in-law Ruth Pettingill. Cremation has taken place and a private family Memorial to follow at a later date. Thoughtful donations in her name may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada or the Canadian Cancer Society. All her life she was a very hard worker whose favourite saying was, “Never give up Hope”. Mom, you will be sadly missed by all who knew you.
