RUTGERS, Hendrika Johanna “Rita”  Rutgers (Nee Schutte) died peacefully, surrounded by her family at Kingston General Hospital on Saturday September 1st, 2018.  Rita “Riekie” Rutgers, of Picton, at the age of 85. Beloved wife for sixty-five years of Gerald. Loved mother of Ineke and her husband Jim Perry of Trenton, Eric and his wife Tina of Bloomfield, Everett and his wife Audrey of Picton and Henrieke and her husband John Westerhof of Hillier. Proud Oma Riekie of Mark, Kevin, Christy, Josh, Amber, Kane, Amelia, Lindley, Jonah, Augusta, Aaron, Kurt and Derrick, their spouses and fifteen great-grandchildren. Remembered fondly by her family in the Netherlands and by the Rutgers families.  Many will miss her socks and mittens drawer. The family will receive friends on Monday September 3rd from 3 until 5 p.m. at the Whattam Funeral Home, 33 Main St., Picton. A private family service will be held.
