Mackenzie (Mac) Burlingham Brown
With much love and lasting memories, the family announces the passing of Mackenzie (Mac) Brown on January 20, 2019 at the age of 101 at E.J. McQuigge Lodge on the outskirts of Belleville, Ontario. Mac was predeceased on November 24, 2015 by Aileen, his devoted wife for over 73 years, the love of his life. Fond memories of Mac are forever treasured by his daughter and son-in-law Maxine and Daryl Tuck in Thunder Bay, Ontario, grandchildren Kimberly (Steve) Gerber in Austin, Texas and Arden and Judith Tuck and 4 great-grandsons Nathaniel, John, Andrew & Samuel Tuck all in Calgary, Alberta. Mac was also predeceased by his parents Bill and Luella Brown in Picton. Mac and Aileen lived for over 70 wonderful years at the solar home Mac designed and built at 16 Queen Street, Picton until Aileen’s debilitating stroke in February 2013 necessitating their move to E.J. McQuigge Lodge where cousin Bruce Dickie was so wonderfully a most valued regular visitor. Mac was a poultry farmer throughout his working life, retiring in 1977 when he sold his farm and poultry business. Mac loved sailing and built several sailboats. He sailed in Lake Ontario and the Thousand Islands and after selling the poultry farm, Mac sailed solo round trip between Picton and Florida and made a number of solo sailing trips across the busy shipping channel from Florida to the Bahamas. Mac and Aileen enjoyed numerous adventures sailing together in the Florida Keys. Mac and Aileen logged many thousands of miles driving to Thunder Bay twice a year playing a very active role with their two grandchildren Arden and Kimberly as they grew up and on into their university and adult years. Mac and Aileen especially enjoyed the many family visits at their home in Picton. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Whattam Funeral Home, Picton with a family remembrance and interment in the spring.  www.whattamfuneralhome.com
