Community Care responds to COVID-19

The Prince Edward County Community Care for Seniors Association announced Monday it’s placing additional programs and activities on hold until further notice to reduce the risk of transmission of COVID-19.

The decision was made based on standards and guidelines from the Ministry of Health and Public Health and the risk factors associated with the spread of the virus. Programs being placed on hold meet one or more of the following conditions: food sharing, prolonged gatherings, and close proximity (i.e. waiting rooms).

During the weekend, Community Care had announced reduced operations that included the halt of programming such as Foot Care Clinics, Active Living Programs, Income Tax, support groups, seminars & Seniors Luncheon Social events as of Monday.

However, changes in the community required the seniors advocacy group to take this drastic measure.

Updates will be posted to the Community Care Facebook Page at www.facebook.com/CommunityCareforSeniors or call 613-476-7493 for further information.
