Tourism should not be promoted at expense of local residents

There were two letters to the editor recently regarding tourism.

In both of these letters it indicated (I’m para-phrasing), that we have to look after our own first – the ones that live here, go to school here, work here, before we have grand designs for the tourists.

What about grand designs for the locals?

It’s the county leaders elected jobs to, yes, promote Prince Edward County, but not at the expense of the people who live here, drive our roads every day, volunteer for our local hockey teams and parades, support our hospital that is in dire need of funds so it can be upgraded.

You will have be one term councillors if the locals are not your primary concern.
