We are deeply saddened that our beloved Harold E. Cottom suddenly passed on July 20,2020 at the age of 70 years. To the very depth of his soul Harold was a true farmer and cattleman with remarkable abilities, talents and unfathomable knowledge. While managing his beef farm in Castleton, Harold also took great pride in working at Kraft Foods, Cobourg for 38 years and as his friends will attest, he loved talking about any aspect of that experience. Quiet and unassuming, he was a man of limitless skills and natural ability. He had a lifetime filled with exceptional experiences and stories that he would occasionally share. His quiet demeanour, kindness and ability were evident in his compassionate way with animals and their response toward him. Harold, forever driven to work hard, while not always having an easy life, would willingly lend his help with any task no matter how big or small. His caring way and presence will be forever missed. Harold is survived by his sisters Sandra, Norma and Linda and his children Daniel and Andrea. Also George Jacobson, his special nephew, who has always been there for him. Harold will be missed by his many friends and acquaintances he had made along his way through life, as well as special friends John and Stephanie Taylor and Roman Levchenko. Harold will be forever loved and deeply missed by his true friend and companion Vivien Michaluk along with Toolu who is still waiting patiently at the door for his return. Harold will be buried at the side of his parents Ernest and Elizabeth Cottom. In memory of and to celebrate Harold’s life please be kind and loving toward the people who are important to you.
