Thrift Shop hosting online jewellery auction

Are you wondering about just the right gift for the people on your list?  Why not check out the Community Care jewellery auction?

This is the first time we’re holding it online.  Go to Community Care’s Thrift Shop Facebook page to see all the items. The Thrift Shop receives the most amazing donations of jewellery. Visit the Facebook page to view and bid on over 20 beautiful pieces of jewellery. The items are also on display at the Thrift Shop located at 153 Main Street in Picton.  Bidding closes at 2:00 p.m. on Fri., Dec. 11th.  100 per cent of the funds raised support programs for seniors.

Another gift idea is to honour someone with a donation to Community Care for Seniors in their name.  A card acknowledging your donation will be sent to the recipient.  Both you and the recipient will know seniors benefitted from the donation. For that special senior on your list we have Gift Certificates available for Community Care programming such as foot care or Meals on Wheels. Often people say they don’t want anything leaving the family member wondering what to do.  You can give the gift of independence.  Maybe you think the senior would benefit from high quality, low cost and low sodium frozen meals.  Buy them a gift certificate for a dozen meals to try and see what they think.  With that one thing you might just change their life. Bring smiles to the thrifty people with gift certificates in $5 denomination to be used at Community Care’s Thrift Shop, 153 Main Street in Picton.  To arrange for gift certificates for programs or for the Thrift Shop call the office at 613-476-7493 or email info@communitycareforseniors.org

Christmas Turkey & all the Trimmings on December 17, 2020 Does the idea of a scrumptious meal of Christmas turkey and all the trimmings, prepared by the chef of Wheelhouse and Occasions Catering, Bill Grieve, have your mouth watering!?  We have a special event planned just for you!  Community Care is not able to hold Christmas meals for seniors in Town Halls this year so a drive up alternative is being offered.  The take-out meal will consist of homemade soup, turkey with cranberry sauce, potatoes, stuffing, vegetables, bread and butter topped off with Bill & Marni’s famous Christmas pudding that everyone loves. The cost is only $15.00/meal and seniors 60+ can order by calling the Community Care office at 613-476-7493.  All meals must be paid for in advance.  Meals will be packaged hot and ready to be picked up between 12:00 and 1 p.m. on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at The View Restaurant located at 734 Prince Edward County Rd 49 (the Picton Golf Course). Seniors will drive up to the main door, provide their name to the friendly volunteer and their meal(s) will be delivered directly to their vehicle. Orders will be taken until Monday, December 14th. Call early.
