A Life Well Lived
Peacefully, on Tuesday, March 30th, 2021 in Belleville, Ontario in his 97th year. Beloved life partner of Barbara Ann, nee Miller for over 73 years. Proud father and father-in-law of Douglas (Julie), Ann (Dick Pease) and Nancy. Loving Grandpa (”Popa”) to Matthew (Renee Bloxton), Katie (Paul Coen) and Andrew (Celka van Dijk) Philp, Taylor (Craig Walsh), Andrea (Mike Edwards) and Samantha Wood and devoted Great-Grandfather to Michael, Hailey and Victoria Edwards, Ella and Jack Walsh, Ethan and Gaven Philp and Benjamin Bloxton, Malin and Wilder Philp, and Lily Coen. After a meaningful career with Travelers Insurance in both the U.S. and Canada, Don and Barb retired from Toronto to Lac Superieur, Quebec and Prince Edward County, where he continued his volunteer service on the National Board of the Boy Scouts of Canada. Don will be fondly remembered for his quiet dignity, humility and humour, as well as his love of family and cherished friends. His was truly “a life well lived”.
