Demorestville Women’s Institute distribute 1,000 meals in 2021

Since January, the Demorestville Women’s Institute (WI) in partnership with Chef Taylor McIndless have prepared and delivered approximately 1,000 meals to more than 20 households within Prince Edward County.

The meals are prepared by Chef Taylor at no charge on Mondays and Fridays to several Sophiasburgh residents and residents in nearby Picton, who are most appreciative.

“The venture began when Taylor (McIndless) indicated the availability of these home cooked meals and asked for our assistance in having then delivered in the community,” said a member of the Demorestville WI. “Councillor Bill Roberts reached out to us and as they say, the rest is history.”

The meals are faithfully delivered by Demorestville WI members Lorie Grier, Barb Foster, Judy Tunnell, Becky Williams and community members Bev Sprague, B.J. O’Brien-Murdoch, Laura Bass and Nancy Stafford

“The Demorestville Women’s Institute is the go-to place to reach out to when it comes to getting things done in Sophiasburgh, if not the county,” added Councillor for Sophiasburgh, Bill Roberts.
