I was shocked to hear that deputations to council and committee of the whole be limited to three, ten minute deputations.

That could easily be abused if those on one side of an issue were all snapped up , thus preventing others from being heard. If there are any councillors who don’t want to hear what their constituents have to say, they shouldn’t be councillors.

Having the right to free speech is basic to a democracy.
