GRAHAM, Sylva Jane

Sylva Jane Graham passed away peacefully at home with family by her side on February 9th, 2022 at the age of 71. She is the cherished mother of Andrea Graham Gummo (Pete Rae) of Kingston and Carolyn Graham Gummo (Charles Berrigan) of Picton. Adored grandmother of Hazel and Ivy Gummo Rae. Beloved Sister of Kent (Lynn) of Halliburton, Hugh (Rose Anne) of Bloomfield, Faye of Picton and Neil of BC. Dear Aunt to Cameron, Christopher and Stephanie, Ryder, Kealy and Tyler, Jonas and Tate, Josh and Meghan. Sylva was an exceptionally skilled writer and news reporter (journalism at Ryerson). From her work at the Kingston Whig Standard to the recent fiction novels that have yet to leave family hands, she was happiest writing. She was a life-long athlete (physical education degree from McMaster), and the most elegant, hardworking strawberry farmer we will ever know. Long time manager of City Revival, Sylva will be missed by the local farming and fashion communities alike. She was quiet and quick witted, articulate and deeply funny. Independent and creative, Sylva brought a steady, resilient force to everything she did. Very wise, strong in every way, and very stoic, right until the end.  Daughters will share plans for a Celebration of Life ceremony at a future date. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society are appreciated.
