Community Care is on the ‘March’ next month

Did you know that Community Care offers over 50 free events each month for seniors 60+ both online and by telephone?

We have online Zoom Classes & “Socials for Seniors” Monday to Friday. Join in at 10:30am for fitness classes, and in the afternoons at 2:00pm for arts & socials. It’s easy to find out what’s on offer. Just go to the Community Care website and on the top right corner of every webpage there’s a button for the activity calendar. We have also just added closed captioning to all Community Care Zooms.

This month the Zoom Webinar topics include the continuance of a 12 week “Falls Prevention Program” with Skye Schwieg, Registered Kinesiologist for VON; “Virtual Drum Circle” with Ruth Dwight, Drum Facilitator with The County of Prince Edward Public Library; “Spring into Healthy Eating” with Sarah Sandham, Registered Dietitian for Prince Edward Family Health Team; “Bats: Myths and Mayhem’ with Naturalist, Terry Sprague. Get active, make friends, be well. Don’t despair if you don’t have computer. We’ve got you covered. Seniors without a computer can join online Zoom webinars via the telephone. And if you’d like to try out a tablet just call the library as we provided them with 10 units to loan to seniors. They will also provide training and an internet stick. For more information or to participate, call Community Care at 613-476-7493, email info@communitycareforseniors.org and remember to check the activity calendar on the Community Care website at www.communitycareforseniors.org

We’ve been busy with a video project and on Friday, February 25th we’re ready to launch four new videos. This has been a great opportunity to involve volunteers and clients in showcasing the services available. The online Video Launch Event is on Friday, February 25th at 2pm and will last under an hour. All are welcome to join the zoom event. Email info@communitycareforseniors.org and we’ll send you the registration info. We help seniors live at home. We’re continuing to offer the monthly curbside pick-up of meals.

In March it’s on Thursday the 24th with roast leg of chicken on the menu. Chef Bill Grieve of Wheelhouse and Occasions catering is preparing this scrumptious meal. The cost is only $15.00/meal and seniors 60+ can order by calling the Community Care office at 613-476-7493 by no later than March 21st.
