Suddenly entered into rest on Thursday, February 24, 2022 at Barrie Manor Enhanced Care Community, Barrie, Joan Spencley of Collingwood, formerly of Toronto and Picton, died at the age of 88. She was the daughter of the late Wilf and Agnes “Peggy” Ellis (nee Byrne) and wife of the late George. Joan was the cherished mother of Kimberley Lerette Petrella (Tony) of Collingwood and grandmother of Vaylen and Anika. She is survived by her brother Kevin Ellis (Adele) of New Brunswick and her niece Maggie. Joan was a lover of animals, “All Creatures, Great and Small”. Mrs. Spencley is resting at the Rushnell Funeral Home – Picton Chapel, 33 Main Street West, Picton (613-476-2450). A Memorial Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, Picton at a later date. Inurnment and Rite of Committal with Prayers at Glenwood Cemetery Columbarium Wall, Picton.
