LETTER: Regent Theatre payment policy discriminatory

During COVID the Regent Theatre changed its payment policy.

No longer are you able to pay with cash (legal tender) to see a movie at the Regent. Not only does this contribute to inflation as it increases the basic cost of a ticket by 20 per cent but it also discriminates against those who do not qualify for or otherwise have a credit/debit card.

I trust the Regent will soon return to the more ‘community friendly’ policy of accepting cash because the Regent promotes itself as a “community organization”; only at that time shall I return to the Regent.
