A raid on a home on London Ave. in Picton has netted a slew of drug charges for five individuals.
Members of the Prince Edward OPP Detachment executed a search warrant on Thursday, June 30 in Macaualy Village with the assistance of the East Region Emergency Response Unit and East Region Community Street Crime Unit.
As a result, officers seized suspected cocaine, stolen property and associated drug paraphernalia.
Dorothy Speirs, 49 from Prince Edward County, Michelle Jubinville, 47 from Prince Edward County, Larry Leveque, 50 from Deseronto, Christopher McCall, 51 from Prince Edward County and Lexington Samuel, 26 from Prince Edward County were charged with possession of a schedule one substance- cocaine contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
Leveque and McCall were further charged with possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code.
Spiers was further charged with possession of property obtained by crime- under $5000 and two counts of failure to comply with release order contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused was held for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on June 30.
The other accused parties were released on undertakings to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton on August 17, 2022.

Belleville Police, along with help from Quinte West OPP, have laid drug charges against three individuals including a 27-year-old Carrying Place man.
On Wednesday, Belleville police service along with their Emergency Response Team, K9 Unit and members of Quinte West OPP conducted a high risk motor vehicle stop in the Trenton area.

Pileggi was held for a bail hearing.
Jason Burningham, 27 of Carrying Place, was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking and Proceeds of Crime over $5000.
Burningham was released and scheduled for a court appearance for Aug. 8, 2022.
-On Monday June 27, 2022 shortly after 2:30 a.m. members of the Prince Edward County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a RIDE program on County Road 3 near Rossmore.
Officers stopped a vehicle and administered an approved screening device. As a result, the driver was arrested and transported to detachment for further testing. Angela Wannamaker, 43 from Belleville, was charged with the following Criminal offences:
- Failure or refusal to comply with demand – CC 320.15(1)
- Operation while impaired- alcohol – CC 320.14(1)(a)
The driver had their licence suspended for a period of ninety days and vehicle impounded for seven days. The accused is schedule to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton on July 27, 2022.
Later that day, shortly after 11:30 p.m. officers discovered a vehicle that had struck a curb near the roundabout on Loyalist Parkway and spoke with the driver. An approved screening device was administered and as a result, the driver was arrested and taken to detachment for further testing. Austin McGarvey, 20 from Belleville, was charged with the following offences:
- Failure or refusal to comply with demand – CC 320.15(1)
- Operation while impaired- alcohol – CC 320.14(1)(a)
The driver had their licence suspended for a period of ninety days and vehicle impounded for seven days. The accused is schedule to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton on July 13, 2022.
Drivers who are impaired by alcohol or drugs continue to pose a threat on Prince Edward County roads. The OPP has enforcement programs in place to detect impaired driving whether this is alcohol or drug. The OPP is committed to ensuring our roads are safe from impaired drivers.
