A fundraising event featuring the Oscar Peterson movie Black+White and aimed at supporting a mammography machine at the new Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital is scheduled for Monday evening at the Regent Theatre.
Women, Worth and Wellness is a business owned by Nancy Griffin who relocated from the Georgian Bay area to Prince Edward County in 2020.
“My business, Women, Worth & Wellness Inc. focuses on women’s health, wealth and legacy planning,” Griffin said. “I curate virtual and in person events that support and enhance women’s health, wealth & legacy planning.”
Griffin explained this is the first event she’s hosted locally and wanted to support a women’s health & wellness initiative through the Foundation’s Back the Build Capital Equipment fundraising drive that will bring state of the art medical technology to the new facility.
Black+White producer Mark Selby will be on hand to discuss the making of the film and will be joined by moderator Rosemary Sadlier, former Chair of the Black History Association. Also in attedance will be Foundation Executive Director Shannon Coull who will speak to efforts regarding the second stage of the Back the Build program.
Members of the Howard Lopez Music Group including Lopez, Ken Erskine and guest Karen Coulter will provide live music.
“It will be a super evening – everyone is encouraged to wear their best black and white to enhance the theme of the movie and have some fun,” Griffin enthused.
