KULMALA, Steven Arthur

KULMALA, Steven Arthur
May 5, 1956 – October 25, 2022
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of “Koolie” “The Wolfman” “The Kulmala King” Steven Arthur Kulmala on the 25 day of October 2022, surrounded by his family and his partner (Anita), at home, at the age of 66. He was known as “The Spirit Leader” in high school at Winston Churchill H.S. and he eventually went on to obtain his Environmental Technician certificate from Centennial College. He lived most of his life in Scarborough, Ontario, and moved to Picton, in the Quinte-West region, for the last 21 years of his life after he fell in love with the local lakes and fishing holes. He loved to fish, sing, and play the guitar, and he loved his Toronto Maple Leafs. He was extremely opinionated, loved deeply, and protective of his family. All who knew him will remember him well. Steven is predeceased by his mother, Viola Beatrice (Aikens), and father, Owen Edward, and his beloved daughter Phaedra Lyn. He will be remembered always by his brother Mike (Mary) and his sister Kathy (Eric) as well as his nieces and nephews. His uncanny ability to procreate gave the world 7 more children who will miss him dearly; Sarah (Chris), Amy (Santo), Justin (Savanna), Tommy, Rosealenna (Gary), Cody and Brent. He was adored and admired by his 25 grandchildren Jolissa, Jaslyne, Jelayna, Juelle, Austin, Alexandra, Ethan, Sebastian, Colby, Measha, Evander, Jaiden, Tohbias, Tyberious, Devon, Ashton, Jaiden, Dawson, Shania, Layla, Athena, Amelia, Logan, Kyran, Grayson and his 2 great-grandchildren Lyla and Jensen. A party, in lieu of a funeral service and “gernin”, will be held on November 18, 2022 from 3-9pm at the Elks Lodge in Picton, Ontario, for anyone wishing to come share memories and laughs with his friends and family. A thank you goes out to his many doctors and caregivers (honorary mention to Dr. Christie, Dr. Brad and Jennifer Hall as well as the Toronto General Hospital Transplant Team) for their patience, understanding, and hard work during the last years of our kings life. If so desired, friends and family can make memorial donations to the Sick Kids Hospital Foundation in honour of his daughter Phaedra Lyn.
