Arts
November 22–23
1–4pm
In this two-day workshop participants will learn basic rules of composition, practice dynamic thumbnail drawing and be introduced to notans. You will learn how to use shadows and shading to create complex or stark contrasts and the illusion of 3D space. You will practice cross contour, gestural and structural drawing.
You will participate in a series of demos and exercises based on skills, techniques and ideas introduced in the class. You will use these skills to render what you see or want to draw as well as develop a stronger sense of your own drawing style. This will culminate in a final drawing done on paper and from a reference that you supply. Mostly we will work with pencil, conte and brush and ink on paper. This is an advanced drawing class and it further develops the concepts and techniques shared in Drawing for Absolute Beginners.
