Arts
February 7–8
1–4pm
Join Canadian choreographer, performer, director, educator, curator and writer, Christopher House in a weekend choreographic workshop. This workshop is for artists working in disciplines other than dance who are curious about the potential of choreographic thinking in their practice, and for dance artists investigating choreography in dialogue with other art forms. Past participants have included visual artists, writers, theatre practitioners, architects, composers and filmmakers.
Using a light touch, the goal of the workshop is to explore how choreographic awareness – spatial, temporal and sensory – can enhance a diverse range of creative gestures. Participants will work with an optimistic rigour that foregrounds play, risk, pleasure and the generative nature of failure. Participants must be willing to engage as performers/collaborators in the work of their peers; as such, it is helpful to have experience in a physical practice (not necessarily dance-based) and an interest in the wonders of movement.
Age range – 18+
2-day workshop: Saturday February 7th & Sunday February 8th, 2026 from 1-4 PM. Location – The County Arts Lab, Unit 2E, The Armoury, Picton. Sliding scale pricing.
