Procreate is a fun and powerful app that you can draw and paint in. You can create new digital pieces right in the app or import and experiment with works already in progress. This workshop, led by artist instructor Irene Götz, is designed for visual artists who are curious about how they might use Procreate in their own practice. This is a beginner’s introduction. Experience with the app is not required. The class will include an in-depth guided tour of the Procreate interface and introduce students to the Procreate fundamentals. We will explore basic screen gestures, the gallery, layers, masking, brushes, colour, and how to import and export images, as well as some transformation and selection tools. We will also work through a few exercises together so that you leave confident to continue learning and playing on your own.
Participants must have an iPad with the Procreate app already installed and be comfortable using their iPad. An Apple pencil is highly recommended. Looking to buy an iPad to operate Procreate? Here is a list of models to consider.
