It is with deep sadness we announce the peaceful passing of David Kenneth Crawford at the age of 76.
With family by his side on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, Dave went to be with his Lord & Saviour at Belleville General Hospital. Loving & devoted husband to Joan (Nyman), adored father to Jody (Liz); Sarah (Lonnie); Jessica (Tim); Kerri (Tim). He took great joy in spending time with his 10 grandchildren. He was a fun-loving Grandpa/Papa to Abby, Willem, Grace, Auston, Jayden, Aynsley, Mykenna, Rhys, June and Reid who will always cherish the many memories spent outdoors, in the workshop, at the cottage or simply being together. He is survived by his sister Joan Shaw (Earl); Jim Crawford (Helen); Dianne Cranshaw (Henry), brother-in-law to Rick & Grace Nyman, Larry & Lynette Pennings and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Kenneth & Jean Crawford and parents-in-law Henry & Annie Nyman. Dave was well-known in the community while employed for many years at the Bay of Quinte Mutual Insurance Company in Picton. There, he took great pride in serving his wonderful clients. He enjoyed retirement with his wife, Joan, by travelling, being outdoors, camping, cottaging and fishing. He also played many games of golf with the men’s league of Wellington Golf Club, his son and sons in-law and grandkids.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 16 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Ainsworth Funeral Home, 288 Noxon Ave., Wellington. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Bethany Christian Reformed Church, 158 Main St., Bloomfield on Thursday, July 30 at 1:00 p.m.
Dave expressed great gratitude to the nurses, doctors and staff that cared for him at Quinte Health Care, with a special thanks to the ICU and the 3 Wish Project at Belleville General Hospital.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Belleville General Hospital Intensive Care Unit Fund or the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital “Back the Build” Fund.
