Diane Harriett Walker (née Gorsline) passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2026. She was predeceased by her parents Harry and Helen Gorsline, and her sister Nancy Jackson (Hugh). Known for her green thumb, she ran Walker’s Greenhouse for 40 years. The greenhouse was such an expression of who she was. It was a place where both plants and the people who walked through the door were deeply cared for. She loved a puzzle and could happily whip up a meal for an unlimited number of people with zero notice. She had a collection of figurine tomatoes that was objectively out of control. Whatever she was doing—running an open house at the greenhouse, organizing a community dinner at St. Philip’s Church, or volunteering with Milford Fair—Diane had a unique ability to make the people around her feel welcome and wanted. While described by many as “quiet,” she loved to tease and be teased. She loved Christmas and was the best gift giver.
Diane was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, member of St. Philip’s Anglican Church, and the South Marysburgh community. She will be profoundly missed by her husband, Glendon; her children, Brent (Erin) and Kim (Chris); her grandchildren, Sarah (Alex), David (Amanda), Bridget, and Lucy; and her great-grandchildren, Griffin and Miller.
Diane was a model of unconditional love. While her loss is deeply felt, so too is the gratitude of a family who was fortunate to be loved by her. Her family is eternally grateful for the support provided by PECMH, KGH, Hospice Prince Edward, and Dr. Walman.
Her family will receive guests at Rushnell Funeral Home – Picton Chapel on Saturday, September 26 from 10-11am with a service at 11am. A reception will follow at St. Philip’s Anglican Church, Milford. If desired, donations in Diane’s memory may be made to St. Philip’s Anglican Church, Hospice Prince Edward, or Prince Edward County Hospital “Back the Build”.
