Douglas Wilson passed away peacefully in Ottawa on March 6, 2026 after a lengthy illness. He leaves behind his wife and soulmate Elizabeth (Sue) Musgrove, his cherished children, James (Alison Campbell), Sarah (David Fraser), grandsons, the joy of his life, Liam, Connor, Brody, and sisters Carolyn (Brian Neysmith) and Peggi (Brian Nemes). Predeceased by his parents Jack and Marion Wilson (Hudson, P.Q.) and his sister Barbara (Vancouver). Born and raised in Quebec, Douglas attended McGill University and Andover-Newton Theological College, Boston. Following graduation and ordination as a United Church minister he served as a hospital chaplain and clinical pastoral care educator at the Douglas Hospital, Montreal and the Kingston General Hospital. In retirement he continued to provide clinical pastoral education at St Paul’s University Ottawa. Douglas enjoyed theatre, travel, golf, tending his large garden at his summer home in Prince Edward County but most of all he enjoyed being “Bubba”. He loved attending hockey and soccer games, teaching “his boys” to garden, drive the tractor and play golf. Douglas will be remembered for his quiet manner, his kindness, his strong sense of justice and his support to the vulnerable people in society. In lieu of flowers if you wish, donations to Bloomfield United Church or your local Food Bank would be appreciated. A Celebration of Life will be held in Bloomfield Ontario at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the Whelan Funeral Home. Tel. 613-233-1488
