H.Ingrid Bronson

March 9, 1948-October 7,2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother at Mariposa House Hospice in Orillia surrounded by her children.
Born on March 9, 1948, in Peterborough, Ontario, Ingrid was the eldest child of the late Arthur and Ella Ackerman. (nee Geertsema) As a young girl Ingrid enjoyed music. She loved to sing in the church choir and sang in several musical productions at the Oakville Yacht Club.
Ingrid is predeceased by her devoted husband of 45 years, Eric L.A. Bronson. Together, Ingrid and Eric raised three children — Chris (Justyna), Brianna (Steven), and Sherri (Jeff) all of Orillia — first on Centre Street in Picton, later locating to Orillia when Prince Edward Heights closed. Upon retirement, Ingrid and Eric returned to the County as they knew they always would. Once returning to Picton, Ingrid ran children’s groups at the library, and returned to school as a mature student receiving her PSW certification.
Ingrid leaves behind not only her children, but a legacy of love and joy in her 11 grandchildren who knew her as “Oma”: Ben, Hudson, Everett, Adalade, Nathan, Trenton, Holden, Brysen, Gavin, Kolsen, Quinton, her brothers Scott (Orillia) and Drew (Pamela) (Picton), and by many cherished “County Cousins” whose roots trace back to their treasured summers at Lakeshore Lodge.
Ingrid will be remembered for her warmth, resilience, and the love she poured into her family and home. Her spirit lives on in the lives she touched and the memories we hold dear.
A small family gathering will commence later to fulfill her wishes.
Donations can be made in her honor at the United Church Food Bank, Picton or the Mariposa House Hospice, Orillia.
“Live Well, Laugh Often, Love Much.”
