Peacefully entered into rest at the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital, on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, Illa Hunt (nee Claridge) of Picton, formerly of Milford, died at the age of 93. Daughter of the late William and Harriett Claridge (nee Greene). Beloved wife of the late Alton “Sam” and loved mother of Tom Hunt, Cynthia Mossing (Barry) and the late Jamie. Proud nannie of Jordan, Ryan (Izabela), and Brendan and great nannie of Anastazja, and Aurelia. Survived by her brother Larry Claridge and predeceased by her siblings Shirley Cooper, Fred Claridge, Garnet Claridge, Wilma Brown, Elsie Coleman, Ruby Orton, Edna Dool, Evelyn Scott, and Lloyd Claridge. Fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends in the county. Illa will be remembered for her strength, kindness, warmth and selflessness, and she would always make everyone feel welcomed and loved. The family wish to express their deep appreciation to David Manchester, Nurse Practitioner, the team of caregivers from Bayshore Home Health, Dr. Amolins and the entire Nursing team at Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital for their care of Illa in her final days. A Memorial Service will be held in St. Philip’s Anglican Church, Milford on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at 11 am, with the family receiving friends for 1 hour prior to the Memorial Service in the Church. Private Interment in the family plot at Glenwood Cemetery, Picton.
