Suddenly entered into rest at his home, Monday, January 26, 2026, John Schoorstra of Picton, died at the age of 71. Son of the late Jitze (John) Schoorstra and Lucy Butland (nee Kooistra). Loving father of Ryan of Vancouver, BC, and Micheal at home. Survived by his sisters Audrey Purdy of Wellington, Shirley Grainger (John) of Toronto, and Joanne Gentile (Stephen) of Marysville, and remembered by his nephews David Purdy and Liam Grainger. In keeping with John’s wishes, there will be no visitation or services. Cremation will take place.  If desired, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or a charity of choice would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to Rushnell Funeral Homes – Picton Chapel, 33 Main Street (613-476-2450).  Online condolences at: www.rushnellfuneralhomes.com
