Passed away suddenly but peacefully with family by his side, at the place he loved the most, McKenzie Lake. Born in Wellington and grew up in the County with his three sisters JoAnn, Betty and Lana. Parents Ann and Doug raised their family on Consecon Street, a homestead that was the heart of the Herrington family as Ken and his sisters grew up, got married and had children of their own. The Herrington home was a gathering place for family and friends for many years and instilled Ken’s love of family, bringing people together and creating a lifetime of memories.
Growing up Ken spent countless hours fishing with his Dad and that’s how they discovered McKenzie Lake – fishing for trout.
Ken met his soulmate, best friend and wife of 51 years in Wellington. They were married October 26, 1974 in Wellington. They built a wonderful life together with their children Christie and Jennifer , and made countless friends over the years as Ken’s career took them to six cities, the last being Burlington, where he retired in 1999.
He spent much of his retirement years on Lake Ontario salmon fishing. The best time of his retirement years were spent with his one and only beloved Grandson Devon.
Ken is survived by his wife Paula (nee Whiteside), daughters Christie (John) and Jennifer (Lyle), grandson Devon, sisters Jo Ann, Betty (Dale), nieces and nephews, Ryan (Jessica), Leah, Mandy (Kyle), Leslie, Craig (Candice), Erin, and predeceased by parents Annie (nee Heinz), Doug, sister Lana (Jerry), brother-in-law John and nephew Christopher.
