On Thursday, August 13, 2026, Lorna Kelly (née Cadieux) of Picton, died at the age of 90, at Hospice Prince Edward, Picton. Predeceased by her brothers Jack and Jerry Cadieux. Loving mother of Patty Ann aka Patricia (deceased), Michael (Michelle), Alison (Gerry), Dana, Sean, Bryde (Schwartz) and doting cat mother to Pepper. Loved Bubba of Sam, Eli, Tau, Madeleine, Kate, Paisley, Harlan, and Daniel. Fondly remembered by her many cousins, nieces and nephews. Devoted friend and cousin of Kathy Roche and Mike Lee, dear friend of Helen and Mick Callan and their family, classmate of Rose O’Neill and loving friend of Sylvia and Les Kovacs. Lorna was a North Bay girl, who loved crisp winters, cross country skiing and skating on local lakes with her brothers. She was fiercely proud of her Irish-French-Canadian ancestry. As a young woman, she graduated from Saint Joseph Hotel Dieu nursing school in Kingston before her marriage to Norman Kelly. She lived most of her life in Toronto and worked as a nurse for years at the Hincks-Dellcrest mental health centre (SickKids CCMH) helping vulnerable youth. There she forged life-long friendships with her co-workers and neighbours in Cabbagetown.  She moved to “the County” after her retirement where she enjoyed a life filled with friendships, antiquing, family visits and unforgettable meals. At this time she also pursued her passions of travelling the world, writing, and creating a beautiful English garden. We would like to thank Valda and Emery for their kindness and support to our mother over the past several years. Special thanks also to the Prince Edward Family Health Team (Dr. Baldwin, and N.P. Brad Gunn), The entire Cancer Clinic team at Hôtel Dieu Hospital, and the amazing Ontario Health at Home team, who together granted Lorna’s dearest wish: to remain in her cozy home for as long as possible.  She volunteered at Hospice Prince Edward, who cared for her tenderly in her final days, providing support to family and friends, hence donations to Hospice Prince Edward ([email protected]) or The Loyalist Humane Society ([email protected]) would be appreciated.
