Marilyn Myrtle Schamerhorn(Storms)

May 28, 1940 - November 26, 2025

The family of Marilyn Myrtle Schamerhorn (Storms) age 85, are saddened to announce that she passed away in Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital on November 26, 2025.

Born May 28, 1940 her roots ran deep in Prince Edward County. Although she lived in many places such as Maynooth, Harrowsmith and Bowmanville, she always said the County was home, eventually retiring there with beloved husband Edward. She had many roles in life- daughter, sister, aunt, teacher, wife, mother, grandmother, life long faithful church member, bowler and for one season an enthusiastic softball player.

Marilyn is predeceased by the love of her life Edward, siblings Hilda, Avis and Nelson, her son Jamie and her son-in-law Roy. She is survived by her daughter Sherol Steinberg, John (son) and Dawn Schamerhorn, Peter(son) and Caroline Schamerhorn and her grandchildren Jamie, Alex, Noah, Thomas, Emily, and Nicholas.

We would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital for their patient, caring support through her recent hospitalizations.

A Celebration of Life will be held May 2, 2026 at North Marysburgh Community Center 2699 County RD 8, Prince Edward County. 1-2pm visitation, 2-3pm time of remembrance, 3-5pm visitation/reception
