With an eye on making 2023 even more dynamic, engaging and popular, Base31 is looking for expressions of interest from musical and performance artists, food and beverage entrepreneurs and community members as the organization looks to set its table for the upcoming season

The former Camp Picton was the scene of an incredible transformation in its inaugural year as a Prince Edward County cultural destination, place of business, presentation venue and community hub.

Situated on the former 70 acre WWII airbase with over 40 barracks and buildings originally built in 1940, Base31 opened to the public in May 2022 and since that date,  the capital projects team has worked tirelessly to revitalize and breathe new life into the buildings while the events and programming team plan and curate new experiences for visitors and community alike.

“Base31 is thrilled to offer three call outs to the community and surrounding region,” said Daniela Kelloway, Head of Marketing & Communications.

The first is a call for musicians and performers who are interested in performing in one of our venues or outdoor locations. To apply, fill out the form here.

The second is a call for food and beverage entrepreneurs.

“The food and beverage team is creating a one-of-a-kind offering to support a group of entrepreneurs who will be the successful candidates for an incubator and accelerator program, designed to give local entrepreneurs everything they need to skyrocket their food business,” explained Kelloway

Applications are now open for this unique program and interested parties can apply here.

Finally, Base31 seeks to invite community members of all walks who are interested in offering unique experiences on site.

“Prince Edward County is known for its dynamic summer markets offering beautiful, artisanal products and produce, but Base31 is taking a different approach,” said Kelloway.”Rather than organizing a traditional market, Base31 is organizing a marketplace that sells experiences (not products) to our visitors.”

Do you have an experience or offering that you’d like to bring to the site? Tell Base31 about it. They  are open to any and all ideas, indoors and out. Apply here.

A public open house about these calls will be held on Friday, Feb. 17 at 2pm – 3pm To RSVP to this event, please fill out this form.

Come meet Base31’s Head of Marketplace Experiences, Food + Beverage Manager and a Producer for our 2023 season.

Ask anything and find out what you need to know about becoming involved with Base31’s many programs and initiatives.
