Canada Post’s latest stamp issue features Halloween pumpkins by a local artist. Its three, hand-carved jack-o’-lanterns are by Picton’s Zac Flavelle.
The stamp issue includes a booklet of six domestic stamps and a special spooky cover. The cancellation mark is in the shape of a jack-o’-lantern.
For generations, jack-o’-lanterns have been a hallmark of Halloween, lighting doorsteps and windowsills with eerie grins and flickering faces. This stamp issue celebrates that time-honoured ritual with three character-driven pumpkins – the Mummy, the Witch and the Monster – that embody the playful thrills and chills of spooky season.
About the stamps
The booklet cover sets an eerie tone with dramatic, illuminated pumpkins in a dark, atmospheric setting, while the booklet interior reveals a crooked grin emerging from a cluster of pumpkins and gourds. The stamp issue was designed by Kristine Do, featuring photography by Maya Visnyei, pumpkin carving by Zac Flavelle and prop styling by Catherine Doherty. The issue was printed by Colour Innovations.
The cancellation mark is from Smoky Lake, known as the “Pumpkin Capital of Alberta” and home to the annual Great White North Pumpkin Weigh‑Off & Fair.
The stamps and collectibles will be available at canadapost.ca and select postal outlets across Canada beginning October 13.
